Angela graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a law degree in 1984 and obtained an MBA at Schulich School of Business, York University, Toronto, Canada. She was admitted Solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong in 1989.  She has been practising law for more than 34 years and has spent 4 years working in an investment bank, where she was promoted to managing director. She returned to private legal practice in 2005.

 

Angela has extensive experience in corporate finance and restructuring laws. She has advised numerous companies on public listings, including H-Share and red-chip listings. While working in an investment bank, Angela acted as sponsors and financial advisers and has therefore acquired an insider’s knowledge of the roles played by various intermediaries in the listing process. She has also gained experience in corporate restructuring, having successfully advised Guangdong Investment Limited on the injection by its parent, Guangdong Enterprises, of the Dongjiang Water Project, UDL Holdings Limited on its 24 Schemes of Arrangement, and obtained conditional resumption for listed companies whose shares were suspended from trading, recent examples being Shenyang Public Utilities Holdings Company Limited and Cypress Jade Agricultural Holdings Limited. 

 

Angela is also admitted to practise as a solicitor in England and Wales, Australia (Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales and Victoria), and the Republic of Singapore. 

 

Angela is a co-author of the 2020 Edition of the e-book entitled “Doing Business in Hong Kong and Investing in Mainland China” published by our firm in March 2020.
